The bias system’s windows are fixed, which means that they open and close at the same time, each day. Price action that precedes a window can forecast some characteristics of that window’s price action. Two examples:
- Perhaps sellers had pushed the market to probe under a relevant support price, but that price was recovered before entering the window. This would indicate that sellers are weak-handed, and a consequence is to reward its buyers. The counterpart price of the held support would become targeted, and it is a “passive” bias.
- Or, similarly, sellers produced a probe under relevant support, but in this situation, its probe was ongoing when the window is entered. This consequence would reward sellers by targeting the next lower support. This is an “active” bias.
These examples apply primarily to the Bias windows, but other windows can also be influential (all times ET) :
- 9:30 to 9:45 … FIRST-15 MINUTES
- 10:15 to 11:30 … A.M. BIAS
- 1:20 to 2:30 … P.M. BIAS
- 3:10 to 3:20 … PROXY WINDOW
- 3:37 to 3:52 … POSITION-SQUARING
These timing windows are highlighted in yellow on this chart:
